From the Classroom to West Tech Fest 

For the past five years, the Young Entrepreneurs Showcase (YES) has been giving Western Australian students the opportunity to take an idea from the classroom and put it in front of the real world.

In 2025, students from across WA came together to showcase businesses, technologies and innovations they had developed through school entrepreneurship programs, innovation challenges and their own ideas outside the classroom.

For teachers, YES provides a practical way to bring entrepreneurship, innovation and enterprise learning to life - giving students a real event and audience to work towards.

We also welcomed student teams from the Minister’s Innovation Challenge, giving young innovators the opportunity to take the next step and showcase their work to founders, business leaders and the wider West Tech Fest community.

And it’s not just about winning.

Students get the experience of building a stand, explaining their idea, answering questions, meeting other young founders and developing the confidence to put themselves and their ideas out there.

Now in its fifth year, YES returns to West Tech Fest on Tuesday 8 December 2026 in Fremantle.

This year, students from any postcode, anywhere in Western Australia can apply to showcase for FREE, with the $5,000 People’s Choice Award also returning.
