Every West Tech Fest event, social and channel is covered by this Code. It applies to all participants and sponsors, and it exists so that everyone is welcome and safe.
The organisers of West Tech Fest are committed to providing an event program that is welcoming and safe for all participants, is free from unlawful discrimination and harassment, and where all participants are treated with dignity and respect.
Adherence to this Code of Conduct is a requirement for all West Tech Fest participants and sponsors, and covers all aspects of the West Tech Fest Program, including all social events and all communication, including that via email or social media associated with any of the events.
All participants are expected to behave professionally, be considerate and be respectful at all times. All verbal and written communication should be inclusive and appropriate for a diverse professional audience.
Unacceptable behaviour includes, but is not limited to:
Individuals who participate in unacceptable behaviour may face consequences including being asked to stop, removal from the event without registration refund, and being disallowed from attending future events.
To report violations of this Code of Conduct, alert one of the West Tech Fest organisers (westtechfest@curtin.edu.au / 08 9266 2128) or West Tech Fest event staff, who have all been briefed and will follow event protocols. Reports may be made by people subject to, or witnesses of, unacceptable behaviour.
This Code of Conduct is designed to ensure that all participants are made to feel welcome and safe.
